I Like Music from Different Eras

Monday, November 19th, 2018

Music soothes me. I have a lot of trouble in my life, and I tend to isolate myself from people. Music is the one calming thing I have in my life. I do not like to read much, and TV bores me. Music though, it speaks to me. It takes me to places that nothing else does. That is why I am always on the lookout for new music. I can listen to music throughout the day and never get bored. Now and again, I’ll do a search on my computer for a new mp3 song download website, and I found a great one not that long ago. (more…)

Remember the Good Old Days?

Monday, November 19th, 2018

My daughter is eighteen years old and she does not know what she would do without the internet. She has to submit all of her papers for school online and it is really interesting to see what tasks she has to do online. I tried to tell her back in the day we would have to go online for an mp3 song download and it was not always easy to do so when we had to use our phone line for the downloading. Someone would be able to call you and knock you off of the phone line and they would actually go and have you dial up online to start all over again. It could take a really long time to get back online because if you could not find a good number, it could have been busy due to all of the people trying to get online after school and after work. I remember that we only had America Online for our web searches.

It’s really weird to me that they do not allow you to use AIM anymore. It was weird that something I used so much as a kid on the internet was gone and taken away. I do not know if I will ever forget the saying that you got when you did have an email waiting for you in your inbox. I met my first husband on Love at AOL in the year 1999 and I really think it’s funny that they do not have that anymore. Most people who are dating online today were not old enough to remember the first online dating site. I think it’s very cool that they ended up having that back in the day, we were able to talk to people from all over the world for the first time.

We Have Fun with the App We Made

Monday, November 19th, 2018

I was talking with some friends several months back, and we thought it would be fun to find an app that we could all do together. We wanted a scavenger hunt app that we could customize, but we were not able to find one that we liked. The only good one was not able to be customized, and that is why we ended up going to an app developer in Singapore to see if this company could design the app that we all wanted to use.

We had plenty of great ideas for it, but the main thing is that it could be customized to a specific town or region as well as being able to customize the things that needed to be found. We took it one step further and came up with a bunch of different themes. (more…)

A Fantastic Journey in Singapore

Friday, November 16th, 2018

I went with my family on a great trip to Singapore. It wasn’t really for any kind of special occasion or anything, we really just wanted to visit a country, so we picked one off the globe and came up with Singapore. We hired one of the transport services in Singapore to take us around to various locations, because we had no idea what there was to see in the country. If we had chosen one of the other countries, we probably would have had a better idea before of what to see, but it wouldn’t have been as fun.

Since I am a person who likes to try out a lot of food from different places when I go to them, I was ready to try everything when I went to Singapore. I didn’t care if the food was spicy or mild, sour or sweet, I was ready to give it a try. I knew of some famous chefs who have come from Singapore to spread their cooking around the world, so I knew that there would be a lot of good food to eat. My son was ready to meet all of the local girls his age, while my daughter wanted to see all of the famous art.

We absorbed a lot of culture while we were traveling there. The driver of the bus that we rented helped us find the best places. Since he lived there, he knew the entire country like the back of his hand, and knew the best way to get to these places while taking the shortest possible routes to get there. I hope we can all go back there some time in the near future, but we have to clear out our schedule. I have a lot of work, and the kids have to go back to school.

Why Traditional Chinese Medicine Works

Friday, November 16th, 2018

Do you know what TCM is? I had a vague idea of it when I first made an appointment for a TCM clinic in Singapore. I had done a cursory search online just to make sure that I would be okay with going there in the first place. While I was waiting to be seen, I was able to talk to an older man in the waiting room, and he could not say enough good things about Traditional Chinese Medicine when he found out it was my first time there.

I had been looking at it strictly from a medical point of view, but that brief chat made me realize that it is so much more than that. It is about the life force that surrounds every single one of us. (more…)

A Much Needed Television Upgrade

Sunday, September 30th, 2018

I invited some friends over to my home for a game night one day, and it ended in disaster. We were playing one of those old motion controlled games and one of my friends threw the controller at the television. The screen broke and the television was essentially useless. I thought about having the television repaired, but I decided that it would be more cost effective to buy a new one from Netphones. Besides, the television was old, so this was the perfect opportunity to upgrade to a new one with all of the modern bells and whistles.

My friend agreed to pay for the cost of the new television since he was the one who broke my old one. (more…)

Programming and Equipment That Fit Your Needs

Thursday, August 2nd, 2018

The website https://www.cablehdtvs.com was exactly what I needed when I decided to surprise my 16 year old daughter with a new HD Television for her bedroom. My daughter is a hard worker, in fact she is going to be graduating early from high school, and for her 16th birthday I wanted to buy her something special. She had a smaller TV that she would watch with her friends, but I wanted to go big this time. I needed to find a great company to provide special programs I knew she would love and something she could easily take with her to own apartment. So I started looking on websites for portable systems and ran into a whole lot of nothing, until I found your online store. You seem to completely understand what I was looking for. (more…)

I Learned to Never Sell Myself Short at Work

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018

I am no longer in school. I am in a decent job that has room for advancement. I was thinking about getting another degree, but I am not sure if I have the time with the job, two kids and the charity work I do. However, I did need to brush up on some physics for some new things we are doing at work. So, I quietly enrolled in physics tuition to help me with some areas I was having trouble with. The reason I chose the instructor that I did was because he did such an excellent job with our two children. Our kids improved their physics understanding by two full letter grades. I figured that if he could help them, then he could definitely help me brush up on some things I really needed to learn quickly for my job.

The last thing you want in a competitive work environment is to look like a dummy in front of your peers or your superiors. I was really worried for a time. (more…)

I Need Help While I Figured out Which Place I Wanted to Work at Next

Monday, April 2nd, 2018

When I graduated, I lived at home with my parents while I searched for the perfect job. Once I landed a job, I was really excited to get my own place. I quickly found out that employees are expected to spend a lot of time at work, so I hired someone from https://www.kleepers.com to help me with housecleaning. I knew that you should never spend only 8 hours in the office when you have just been hired, but I had not idea that employees at my new company spend as much as 14 hours per day working in the office.

I’m all for doing really well at whatever a person does. I work hard, and I don’t have a lot of trouble with being tempted too much by idle things when I know there is work to be done. It is very common in my country for people to work beyond their scheduled hours. I was ready for that. However, I was not reading for never being home. (more…)

My Boys Needed Physics Tutoring

Tuesday, March 6th, 2018

I did some research on physics tuition because I knew that my twin sons needed a boost in that area to make it more interesting for them. They were doing okay in their physics class in high school, but we are not a family that maintains mediocrity. Rather, we excel at anything and everything we do, because none of us really see the point of putting in only partial effort. The boys told me that they would not even have taken that class if they had known how boring it would have been for them.

That about floored me, because physics has always fascinated me. I could not believe that my offspring did not feel the same way. When I asked them what physics means to them, all they could really tell me was it is boring learning about string theory. I asked them what else physics means to them, and they really could not tell me much more. (more…)

Tree-Lined Driveway Needed Some Housekeeping

Saturday, March 3rd, 2018

The road in our little neighborhood is not maintained by the state, and we do not have a lot in the way of local help. We pretty much take care of things on our own. Our driveway is just off of this road, and it is lined with giant trees. When a storm brought done two of them together across our driveway and out into the road, I decided to call a Nassau County tree removal service to get rid of them and look at the rest of the trees.

I did not have a budget for this. Since there was no structural damage to anything, I figured our insurance would not cover a nickel of it. (more…)

The Future is Better Living in the City

Wednesday, February 14th, 2018

My employer hooked me up with thenewfuturacondo.com.sg because I was going to need a place to live once I moved to Singapore for my job. The move isn’t going to take place right now, but we’re already putting all the pieces of the puzzle together so that when the time comes it will be a smooth transition for me and my family. I actually worried about finding a place to live more than anything else because I’ve heard the horror stories about finding a decent living arrangement in Singapore. It can be a real nightmare if you don’t work at it.

My employer used to put up all his people in a particular building because he got a good deal on it, but the location left a lot to be desired. (more…)

I No Longer Have Acne Scars

Tuesday, February 13th, 2018

When I was younger, I had a war with acne. Though it did win quite a few battles, I ultimately won the war. It took me a while to figure out how to do that though. I stopped getting the outbreaks when I was around 19 years old, but the toll from the years of having it was pretty severe. I had acne scars on my face, and I honestly thought that I was going to be stuck with them forever until I found an aesthetic and laser clinic for Singapore residents.

I had tried various lotions and creams, and I had gone to see a dermatologist too. Nothing that was suggested really worked, and I just accepted that I was going to have the scars for the rest of my life. Thankfully, I did not let it affect me, as I knew that some women who have scars like that have very low self esteem. (more…)

I Feel Safe in My Childhood Home Once Again

Sunday, January 7th, 2018

I loved the city and home that I grew up in so much that I decided to move back there after getting a divorce in my thirties. It was eye opening to see that my old neighborhood had changed so much while I was away. It used to be a somewhat safe neighborhood, but there are a lot of burglaries now. I no longer need to worry about it now that I had ADT in El Paso come to the old home that I grew up in to put in an alarm system. I feel safer now, and a lot of my neighbors have been following suit and having one put into their homes after they learned that I did it.

As a child, my parents knew it was safe to let me go outside to play in the neighborhood on my own. We lived on a street that was quiet and very little happened. Often, my friends and I didn’t even go home until dinner time and the sun was setting. I moved away after college, but my parents kept that home for decades after I left. (more…)

I Had to Get My Back Fixed

Thursday, December 28th, 2017

The story behind it is really quite a farce and the girl I was dancing with thought it was really funny at first. I had been out drinking and dancing at this really nice club in the old part of the city. I ran into this girl I had gone to school with and she was out with about four or five other girls, they had been drinking pretty hard too. At any rate I ended up going to see a guy that does TCM in Singapore the next morning, this guy did acupuncture on my back. It was really ridiculous. Apparently one of these girls had herself a stalker and it was the one I decided to go after. (more…)

You Can’t Beat Search Engine Optimization

Thursday, December 28th, 2017

After using the services of an seo company in Philippines, I’m amazed at how traditional marketing strategies take a back seat to something like search engine optimization. Back in the old days of brick and mortar stores, all you did to get people in your store was set up shop and wait for the people to start coming in. You probably also would have put ads in the newspaper or flyers around town. That’s all it took, along with word of mouth, to get customers and start making sales. Compared to selling online, that was pretty easy stuff.

Now it’s just a huge mess. No matter what you sell, I guarantee you someone else is selling the same wares online, and they’ve probably been doing it longer and better than you have. (more…)

I Found the Perfect Condo

Wednesday, December 27th, 2017

I had just about given up on finding a nice condo. It seemed that every single one that I looked at was determined to have more than the last one that was built. I suppose some people want every bell and whistle possible, but I am not one of those types at all. I do want to have some amenities, but I don’t need to be constantly surrounded by things to entertain me. That is why when I looked at the New Futura condo development, I knew within a minute that I wanted to look at more information.

I usually discard new development suggestions by friends because I don’t want to be surrounded by eight pools, three fitness centers, six restaurants, and any other such things. I do want a swimming pool, and I want a place where I can walk my dog. Those are about the only two requirements that I have, and I would be able to have both of those things at New Futura. (more…)

I Am Really Working Hard Now

Wednesday, December 20th, 2017

I have been really busy with school and work, the idea is that I want to be able to finish my classes within three years and that is going to mean that I have to buckle down and watch my buckles. My dad says that to be funny, but he is not very good at being funny. At any rate I am living in the basement and not doing much else aside from working at a pizza place and working on my degree. Today I am messing with virtual families 2 cheats because I want to figure out how they work and if they make the people who use them vulnerable to exploits. (more…)

I Had My Tattoo Removed

Saturday, November 4th, 2017

Sometimes people will make impulsive decisions that they may come to regret later. I did that when I was out with some friends about two years ago. They convinced me to get a tattoo, and I was in a rebellious mood so I did it. It was not a large tattoo, but it was very prominent because it was on my lower arm. I started wearing long sleeve shirts to cover it up at work which can be hard during the warmer months. When I heard about a medical and aesthetic clinic that actually helps people like me, I was so happy.

I first went to their website because I wanted to learn as much as I could about this clinic. Everything I read pleased me immensely because I finally found the answer to my problem. That is the thing about impulsive choices. (more…)
